    London’s first garden neighbourhood

Today’s St John’ s Wood, with its verdant squares and tree-lined avenues, was planned in the 18th century as one of London's original garden neighbourhoods – semi-detached villas with private gardens, and low-density streets in a city that had not previously been built that way. Centuries later, that enlightened plan remains a reality.

Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill are moments away, and the village sits between the 600-plus acres of the Royal Parks of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens to the south, and the even greater expanse of Hampstead Heath to the north, all contributing to its sense of tranquillity and security of a leafy London village.

    Private yet connected

St John's Wood offers much in its own right, from celebrated restaurants to world-famous institutions such as Lord's Cricket Ground and Abbey Road Studios. Its proximity to Mayfair and central London also places the very best of the capital within easy reach: Bond Street is just two stops away on the Jubilee line, and a short Tube or taxi ride opens up the private members' clubs, theatres, galleries and boutiques of the West End.
